Hello, I am a CS addict and I am unhappy with the update. I think its neat that people on other computing systems are allowed to play, but why all the rest? I do not want to see such an epic game become something of a market toy.

As a life long gamer I remember when gaming was not a huge market. This allowed tons of less known individuals produce a wide array of interesting games. Now that its a billion dollar industry such freedom does not exist. CS is about the only game I play anymore, simply put its the perfect game.

Is CS going to become a market product, or will it simply be what it was. Many complained of CSS source, but that never entailed all of the social networking programs now employed by the latest update, and I find it sad.

Plus will the game go for the more advanced hardware/software systems now? With super charged junkies processing kills as fast as they can?

I just have fear is all, that CS will become something other then what it was.

I can only agree here. Im the same way, I just play cs:s but have played since Beta 1.3. A roughly 10 year stint with this game and here they go and ruin it. The lag spikes are horrid! My rig: 1000watts powering: phenom x4 3.4 true quad, ati radeon 5850, 2TB 7200 HDD set to raid 0, 8GB 1600 @ DDR3 OCz Black Edition....yet with ALL that powering my gaming, the update has managed to be glitchy enough to bottle-neck MORE of my memory and cause client side lag. Example: Every time I look in the DIRECTION of an opponent (regardless of proximity), my screen glitches and I lag. This becomes tiresome to deal with while in a match (esea is now diminishing--cevo likely to follow). The cartoon-like scoreboards grew on me slightly but eliminated ease of playing in the game and checking the scores/decifer who is alive while watching where you are going--small factor? True, however the style of COUNTER-STRIKE is what has worked for roughly 10 years of play, and that style is one of the things deminished with this most recent update. This update is killing the game and its noticable. The lag is not tollerable. This should be fixed due to the fact that the community will likely shut dwn.

I no longer enjoy the game.
