well when i open up 1.6, a error comes up that says my video card does not support openGL settings. but it does. and it runs on shitty graphics and it looks kinds like globs of colors. help plz? thanks

Download the driver that has the openGL support in it. If one is not available then your card most likely does not support openGL.
