all I can say is England ftw!
SuddenGunfire here lives in Poole and inevitably sees them a lot due to the proximity to Blandford and Bovington Camps.
The old land rovers can't be beaten. Jeeps may be good but compared to the defender nought.

I would rather have my Jeep over the LR anyday. Don't get me wrong, the LR is awesome, but compared to a jeep its just not quite there.

Right on wild card. I've put my jeep through things a LR can only dream over. And comparing specs from a LR to a jeep its a joke. Jeep has superior wieght, wheelbase, approach angle, axles, and transfer case, The engines are arguable because the LR has diff engine options. Lets not mention the jeeps superior look lol the LR is ugly as hell lol

I wouldn't even bother arguing the engine. Mine is an '06 the last of the Inline 6 cylinders that jeep has been using since the late sixties and is plenty to drive 33 inch tires even with stock gearing. Throw some 4.11's in the diffs and your good till about 35's. If you need tires bigger than that, just buy a friggin monster truck.
When i had my old jeep wrangler, a '94, i used to bet people money that they couldn't follow me down the trail without getting stuck. I only had 31's and stock suspension. I only lost once, and that was too a suzuki samurai that made it through a mudpit i didn't think he would make it out of.
I'm not willing to bash my '06 like that (yet) but i will always put the jeep at the top of the list of 4 wheel drive vehicles. They just can't be beat.
