Metal is an evolution in music. It's a faith. It's constantly progressing and always improving, inspiring people all around the globe to partition in creating their own or supporting Metal bands Worldwide.
People that don't look far into Metal and give the negative approach of Greasy Grandmo and co. obviously can't comprehend the genre in order to justify their reasoning. Metal is music with a meaning. Althoug pretty much all music is self expression, Metal can bring all kinds of mixed emotion from wanting to break someone's face to chilling with a spliff listening to perfectly orchestrated guitar solos with a Metal band accompaniment.
The reeal pain in the arse about Metal is the amount of sub genres (one being Emo). I am completely 100% anti-emo. Now, whoever pays to see a bunch of badly clothed kids with fucked up hair and guys with tight jeans playing half arsed Metal riffs and drum grooves crossed with whiny shithouse vocals obviously have no taste in music whatsoever.
And goths who take themselves seriously deserve the humiliation they put themselves through daily.

As for me, Metalhead for life, a few favourite bands being:-

Dry Kill Logic, Lamb of God, Naildown, Bloodsimple, Vision of Disorder, Nile, Necrophagist, Devildriver, Fear Factory, Machine Head, Children of Bodom, Slayer, The Berzerker, Dream Theater, Stone Sour, Roadrunner United, Deicide, Spineshank, Illdisposed, Chimaira, Sepultura, Soulfly, Stampin' Ground...
etc.

I like every thing, but not a lot of rap. Old school rap (NWA, Run DMC, etc) is great. Mainly I like anything heavy. Not gay heavy like As I Lay Dying. I like the heaviest of the heavy (except for grind core). Behemoth is great, brutal death metal / black metal. There are too many bands to mention. I also like classic rock (Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, The Beatles, Foreigner, etc.) Yeah... you get the jist

Pretty much the same veiws and tasted as I. I hate when people say "I can't stand the screaming people" or "they just sing about killing people". That is just a lowsy stereotype. At least rock it before you knock it.

Well, I understand that it is a steriotype that Metal is generaly based on death and dark things. I tend to believe it. Come on guys, look at the names of these bands!

I'm sorry that I don't like that...s**t but it's just... umm... scary! I mean look at some of these artists. They wear all black and wear dog collars and tattoo themselves to a ludicrous degree.

I myself are of the happy type in this dark and heavy community. When I go home I listen to people such as Bob Marley, Queen, Led Zepplin, Bob Dylan, and Hip-Hop and R&B.

As for the s**t about Metal becoming an evolution around the world that is totaly bulls**t. I know 10-12 people out of probably 500 that listen to that dark and deathly "music". In my opinion, all they do is scream and break your ears with extremely drowning guitars and drums.

But whatever, I know I'm outnumbered in this community because gamers tend to be dark and almost emo.

I think your mistakeing emo for goth. emo can be, but isnt always necissarly dark. Goths on the other hand, are all about death and sarrow.

I dont mind classic rock and very few amounts of light rock to "medium" rock (not soft rock, that is just weird). I like guns and roses and ac/dc for example. But people like marylin manson just plain scare the fuck out of me.
